Ashleigh Owen is a neurodivergent, queer artist and performer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. She works as a theatre-maker, cabaret artist, facilitator, content creator, podcast producer and theatre director. 

 

Ashleigh makes theatre ​about things that keep her awake at 3 in the morning. It challenges misconceptions and stereotypes linked to her lived experiences and identity. Her work comments on societal norms and injustices, to encourage social change. It has a lot of heart and sends audiences on an emotional journey using music, cabaret, comedy and parody.

 

Ashleigh is associate artist at LGBTQIA+ arts organisation Homotopia and has been creative lead of their youth programme Young Homotopia for 3 years.

 

Ashleigh's creative endeavours are ultimately driven by the desire to create spaces where people feel seen, affirmed and inspired to embrace their authentic selves.
