White Rabbit Panel Discussion
This Monday at 6.30pm you'll find me at FACT for a screening of Vivian Bang's White Rabbit. I'll be co-leading a panel discussion afterwards with Niloo Sharifi and Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor to air our thoughts and hear the audiences point of view. Here is a little bit more information about the film and the panel:
"Funny with a wry twist or two, White Rabbit looks at comedy and identity, love and social disaster, starring Vivian Bang as a performance artist on the edge and Nana Ghana as the intriguing photographer whose paths she keeps crossing.
We'll have special guests performer and writer Ashleigh Owen, Bido Lito Features Editor Niloo Sharifi and film producer Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor to lead a panel discussing the film and hear your points of view.
Part of Queer Film Network's tour "Gay as in Hysterically Funny", this is a chance to debate whether comedy can help us discuss and disarm some of the toxic present day politics about identity .
QFN is a strategic Film Hub Wales project and the event is part of the BFI Comedy Genius nationwide season supported by funds from the National Lottery, led by Film Hub Midlands on behalf of the BFI UK Film Audience Network
The screening will be supported with captions for D/deaf and Hard of Hearing audiences and there will be a BSL interpreter for the discussion."
Please come along! I'm a big fan of Pride at The Pictures as they always present brilliant and thought provoking work.
